Accessibility statement template (free) and how to write one

An accessibility statement tells visitors what you've done, what you know still needs work, and how to get help. A good one is honest. It does not claim compliance you haven't verified.

What to include

1. Your commitment, in plain words.
2. The standard you aim for (usually WCAG 2.2 Level AA).
3. Current status: what you've tested and how, with the date.
4. Known issues and workarounds.
5. How to contact you about barriers (email and phone) and how fast you respond.
6. The date it was last reviewed.

We want everyone to be able to use [website]. We aim to meet the
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Avoid

• Claiming "fully compliant" or "ADA certified" without evidence.
• Copying another site's statement, which may describe testing you didn't do.
